Melvin González-Rivera is an Associate Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez. He specializes in syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and their interface in grammar, with an emphasis on Caribbean Spanish. He is also the author/co-editor of several books and articles on topics related to language, its social and political roots, semantics and philosophy.
